In October 2024, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) reported a total of 210,247 passengers, with 105,878 enplaning from the airport. These figures represent a slight decline of 7.2 percent compared to October 2023. However, year-to-date numbers show a 7.4 percent increase, with 2,071,069 total passengers and 1,037,566 enplanements recorded thus far.
The decrease in October numbers can primarily be attributed to the reduced availability of seats in the market. This October, COS offered 129,974 seats, marking a 6.9 percent decline from the same month last year. In contrast, year-to-date seat availability stood at 1,265,991, reflecting a 6 percent increase with an average load factor of 81.5 percent.
Looking ahead, COS has exciting developments on the horizon. Allegiant Airlines will begin new service in February 2025, offering three nonstop routes to:
- Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona via Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) – beginning February 12, 2025
- Santa Ana/Orange County, California via John Wayne Airport, Orange County (SNA) – beginning February 13, 2025
- St. Pete/Tampa, Florida via St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) – beginning February 14, 2025
Additionally, Southwest Airlines has announced plans to start service to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) on June 7, 2025, marking COS’ first international destination.
As the holiday season approaches, COS will be running a holiday parking promotion. Travelers can take advantage of 50 percent off daily long-term parking at just $4 a day during the following periods:
