COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Traffic more than doubled in March for the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) with Spring Break travel as the main contributor. For the month of March, COS enplaned 87,346 passengers and 172,873 total passengers traveled through the terminal. When compared to March of 2021, this represents a 51.2 percent and 51.1 percent increase, respectively.

An increase in capacity allowed for 21.5 percent more seats in the market than last March. Nearly 80 percent of seats were sold, boasting a 78.9 percent load factor and 80.3 percent with thru traffic. March proved to be the busiest month for COS, and summer projections indicate traffic will be just as high, if not higher.

Summer travelers now have access to valet parking at COS. Valet services will be available for travelers beginning May 1, 2022. The daily rate will be $19, and travelers can pay an additional $3 for solar covered parking.

With the increase in travel continuing to rise, passengers are reminded to arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled flight. Additionally, in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) no longer enforcing the Federal mask mandate, face masks are no longer required for employees and passengers at COS. Health and safety remain top priority for our passenger and staff. CDC recommends wearing masks in indoor public transportation settings and choosing the best decision for your health and well-being.

While masks are no longer enforced at most U.S. airports, certain airports, airlines, or countries may still require them. Travelers are encouraged to check the policy and requirements for their destination prior to departure.
