COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In the month of February, Colorado Springs Airport (COS) continued to see a rise in traffic. COS enplaned 69,894 passengers this month, which represents a 148.6 percent increase from February 2021. A total of 139,012 passengers traveled through the terminal, showing a 148.6 percent increase compared to the same time last year.

Seats in the market and load factors also continued to grow. At 92,367 seats between all five carriers, COS has 87.3 percent more seats in the market than in February 2021. Even with such a large increase in seats, the average load factor was 75.7 percent for the month – 18.7 percent higher than last February.

COS is forecasting higher traffic projections for the month of March due to Spring Break travel and traffic is predicted to increase through the summer. This increase will be in part from new air service. Delta Air Lines announced nonstop service to Atlanta (ATL) would begin August 9, 2022, offering direct and worldwide connecting options. The daily service to ATL is now available for booking with three class options.

With the increase in travel continuing to rise, passengers are reminded to arrive at least an hour and a half before their flight is scheduled to depart. Additionally, travelers should be aware that the federal mask mandate has been extended to April 18, 2022, therefore a mask must be worn throughout the airport and on the aircraft.
