Request Remote Disposition
If you are not represented by an attorney
What is Email Disposition?
The Email Disposition Process has been created to allow you, as a defendant in Colorado Springs Municipal Court, to resolve certain cases via email, without having to appear in court. View frequently asked questions.
What if I just want to reschedule my court date?
Do not use Email Disposition to reschedule your court date. To reschedule your court date, please contact the Colorado Springs Municipal Court at (719)-385-5928. View the Motion to Continue page.
What happens after I submit this form?
A prosecutor from the City Attorney’s office will review your request and send you an email with either a plea offer or a denial. If you accept the plea offer, your case will conclude based on the terms of the plea offer. If you are denied a disposition via email, you must appear at your next scheduled court date. If you do not wish to accept the plea offer, or if you decide to contest your case at a trial, you must appear at the court, Room 108 to set your trial date.
What if I would like to speak with a prosecutor directly, or negotiate my plea agreement?
The Email Disposition Process does not allow you to actively negotiate a plea agreement, speak directly with a prosecutor, or dispute your case. If you wish to actively negotiate your plea or to speak directly with a prosecutor, you must appear at the court, Room 108 to set a court date called a pretrial conference where the prosecutor will be present for individual discussions.
Automatic Point Reduction for Eligible Traffic Offenses
If you have been charged with a traffic offense of 4, 3 or 2 points and your case is payable as indicated on the front of your ticket, then you are eligible for an Automatic Point Reduction instead of a remote disposition. If this applies to you, please do not fill out a remote disposition request as no additional offers will be made remotely in your case. Instead please learn more about Automatic Point Reductions or pay your ticket.
Attorney Remote Disposition Request
Communication on all Attorney Remote Disposition Requests MUST come solely from the attorney and/or their firm. Communication cannot come directly from the defendant, and prosecution staff will not respond in any way to any communication from represented clients.
Remote Dispositions are only available for traffic cases. In addition, the City Attorney’s Office- Prosecution Division reserves the right to reject a remote disposition for any reason. If that occurs, you will be notified via email.
Motions practice, extensive pretrial negotiation, or trials cannot be resolved remotely. In those instances, in person appearance is required.
You cannot request discovery via the Attorney Remote Disposition Process. Any discovery requests must be done using the Request for Discovery form.
By submitting this form, I acknowledge that I and my client are responsible for attending all currently scheduled court appearances unless otherwise ordered. An arrest warrant may be issued for failure to appear if you do not attend. To proceed with the remote disposition process, your case must be set for a pretrial conference no later than one week from submission of this request.
To vacate the currently scheduled court date and schedule a new court date, contact the Violations Bureau at (719) 385-5928 or email municipalcourtviolations@coloradosprings.gov.
