On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at approximately 8:43 P.M., the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a three car crash near the intersection of Hancock Expressway and Delta Drive. Responding officers discovered all occupants of the vehicles were injured. Following medical treatment on scene by members of the Colorado Springs Fire Department and AMR, all occupants were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

It was determined a Toyota Camry, occupied by 40-year-old Christine Green-Demers of Colorado Springs and accompanied by her infant daughter, was traveling westbound on Hancock Expressway at Delta Drive when it crossed the turn lane into oncoming traffic  and struck an eastbound Honda Pilot, which was occupied only by the driver. The two vehicles then careened into a Nissan Versa, which was also traveling eastbound. Three people occupied the Nissan. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Ms.Green-Demers succumbed to her injuries.  The status of the remaining involved parties is unavailable at this time. We are still investigating if DUI or speed were factors in this case.

Despite the efforts of the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, as well as the Colorado Springs Police Department, next of kin for Ms.Green-Demers has not been located. It is requested that anyone with information regarding the identity of Ms.Green-Demers’ next of kin to please call the El Paso County Coroner’s Office at 719-390-2450.

Ms. Green-Demers is the 19th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year.  At this time in 2020 there were 13 traffic related deaths in the city. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
