On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, members of the Colorado Springs Police Department, Falcon Division, were dispatched to the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Mallow Drive regarding a vehicle versus motorcycle traffic crash. When officers arrived on scene, it was discovered that the motorcycle was traveling east on Austin Bluffs Parkway, and the vehicle was traveling north on Mallow Drive, attempting to make a left turn to go east on Austin Bluffs. When the vehicle, a silver Audi sedan, began to make the left turn, the motorcycle rider struck the driver’s side of the vehicle suffering fatal injuries. The rider of the motorcycle was deceased on the scene. It is uncertain currently if speed was a factor in this crash.
On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased motorcycle rider. The deceased rider was identified as 20-year-old Connor Breen of Colorado Springs. This is the 42nd traffic crash this year in Colorado Springs. At this same time last year, there were 38 fatal traffic crashes in Colorado Springs.
