Identification of 19th Street Homicide Victim

On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased victim, who has been identified as 19-year-old Demitri Crockett, a resident of Colorado Springs.  While the Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, Mr. Crockett’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

Mr. Crockett’s death is the 38^th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2022.  The CSPD investigated 30 homicides this time last year.

October 10, 2022 notification

On 10/10/22, at approximately 7:18PM, CSPD Officers were dispatched to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. The male was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The Violent Crimes Homicide/Assault Unit responded to assume the investigation which is ongoing.
