On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the deceased male victim, who has been identified as 45-year-old Antonio Jimenez-Garibay, a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. While the Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, Mr. Jimenez-Garibay’s death is being investigated as a homicide. At this time, no arrests have been made and the investigation is on-going.

Mr. Jimenez-Garibay’s death is the 37th homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs in 2022. The CSPD investigated 26 homicides this time last year.

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at approximately 2154 hours, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a shooting in the 4200 block of Galley Road. Upon arrival, officers located a male who was deceased. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
