The City of Colorado Springs is asking the public to provide feedback on its 5-year plan for allocating grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The grants can be used to support affordable housing, homelessness prevention, nonprofit assistance, and neighborhood infrastructure improvements for low- and moderate-income residents within the community. 

The draft plan contains strategies, projects and activities from 2025 to 2029 using federal Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). The comment period on the draft plan will be open till Jan. 27.

Residents are invited to a public hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the City Administration Building (30 S. Nevada) in Room 102. Residents can also join virtually by visiting the project website. 

The City will hold a Spanish language public hearing for residents on Jan. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Silver Key (1655 S. Murray Blvd.).
