Under the leadership of Mayor Suthers, Andy provides project management assistance to community non-profits, acts as a liaison between community organizations and City leadership, and keeps elected officials informed on issues related to homelessness. He helps coordinate Colorado Springs contributions to the regional efforts to prevent homelessness, as well as responses to issues or needs that arise from people experiencing homelessness. He serves as the City's liaison between numerous community groups and service providers to help people find appropriate services and, ultimately, permanent housing. As the COVID-19 crisis escalated in 2021, Andy was an integral part of converting the Colorado Springs City Auditorium into a 70-bed isolation shelter for people experiencing homelessness who became sick with the coronavirus.
Andy received his Masters of Social Work from Newman University and moved to Colorado Springs in 2012. He loves to spend time with his wonderful wife, two cats, two basset hounds, and ten chickens at their home farm in southwest Colorado Springs. We are fortunate for Andy’s dedication to responding to the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our community!
