Biographical Information:    Commander Eells joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in 1987. Commander Eells was promoted to Sergeant in 1999. As a Sergeant, he worked in Patrol, the Airport Police Unit, and the Robbery/ Juvenile Offender Unit. In 2004, Commander Eells was promoted to Lieutenant. He was assigned to Patrol and the Tactical Operations Unit, where he was responsible for SWAT, K-9, EOD, and the Air Support Unit. He was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2007, and immediately assumed command of the Specialized Enforcement Division. Additional command assignments include the Falcon and Stetson Hills Patrol Divisions, Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Division and the Office of Professional Standards. Commander Eells holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice, both awarded by the University of Colorado. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Center for Creative Leadership .
