Chief Carey's Welcome Message

CALEA Conference Attendees:

I would like to personally welcome you to beautiful Colorado Springs! The Colorado Springs Police Department is pleased to co-host the July 2015 CALEA conference. We are excited to present networking and professional development opportunities in conjunction with CALEA, our regional PAC - the Rocky Mountain Accreditation Network, and the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau.

It's an exciting and challenging time for the public safety field. This conference will aid in keeping law enforcement agencies responsive to community needs, remaining adaptable to future changes, and being motivated to providing excellent community service.  I encourage you to reach out to our officers about programs within our department.  Our presenters are looking forward to providing timely, relevant, and award-winning topics for your participation.  If you need assistance, our staff and Community Advancing Public Safety (CAPS) volunteers are ready to lend a hand.

While you are here, please take advantage of everything Colorado Springs has to offer: day trips to the United States Air Force Academy, the top of Pikes Peak- America's Mountain, and a visit to the award winning Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, all of which provide a glimpse into our community. There are many other opportunities for you to discover in the unique area we call home.

Thank you for attending and bringing your experience as law enforcement professionals and sharing your vision, knowledge, and expertise to help shape the future of law enforcement. I hope you enjoy your stay and wish you safe travels.

Sincerely,

Peter Carey
Chief of Police
