April 1, 2025 Municipal Election

Candidate filing packets will be available on December 31, 2024 in the City Clerk’s Office. Last day to file to run for the City office is January 21, 2025. The City Clerk hosted a training session for candidates on January 2, 2024. A recording of that training is available at the bottom of this page.

Eligibility to Run for a City Council District Office

  • Must be a citizen of the United States of America
  • Must be 25 years of age or older on the date of the election
  • Must be a registered elector of the City of Colorado Springs
  • Must have resided in the City of Colorado Springs city boundary for one-year immediately preceding the election date
  • Must reside in the City Council District boundary for which your residential address is located and if elected, and must maintain a residence within the district boundary for the entire four-year term of office

Candidate Training

The City Clerk conducted a candidate training on Thursday, Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the City Administration Building at 30 S. Nevada Ave, Room 102. A recording of the training is available below.

Campaign Finance

Once a candidate raises or spends $20 or more towards their campaign, they must start filing campaign finance reports. For additional information visit Campaign Finance.
