CSPD K9 Donut and her handler have been selected to go to this year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, NV to help provide security! They will be helping make sure the event and the attendees are safe and that things go off without a hitch.
K9 Donut and her handler, Officer Rodney Biechler, work in CSPD’s Colorado Springs Airport Unit, keeping all of those traveling to and from our city safe. K9 Donut is an explosives detection dog and has been working with CSPD since January of last year. She is a 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. When she isn’t working, she loves to play with her tennis ball and run, and run, and run some more.
Soon, she and Officer Biechler will be off to the Super Bowl in Vegas. There, they will work with teams selected from across the country to keep the event safe. This is K9 Donut and Officer Biechler’s second time being selected to help with the Super Bowl. Last year, they traveled to Arizona to assist with the big game.
CSPD is extremely proud of the great work that K9 Donut and Officer Biechler do for our community and those traveling in and out of it every day. We are excited that they will be taking that service and excellence to Las Vegas and the Super Bowl.
